Wireless Engineer - Fixed Term Contract (Peterborough / Central Region) Before you apply We are unable to offer sponsorship so you must have the right to work within the UK. This role is for a fixed duration, initially 3 months but expected to be extended You must hold a UK driving Licence You must be willing to travel long distances and work away from home, including overnight stays We do not require the services of any recruitment agencies at this time. About the role (Ref 0320) Ideally located near Peterborough, as a Wireless Engineer you will be ensuring all of our networks and our customers are managed effectively. You will keep services optimised, fixing issues and installing equipment in a timely manner. What you will be responsible for At the forefront of everything we do, you will ensure we deliver an exceptional customer experience throughout the entire install/support/fault life cycle; you will be our public-facing representative. Installation of Wi-Fi radios, CAT5 cabling and Routers; Installation of CCTV cameras and other equipment whilst working at height on the exterior of residential and commercial properties; Experience of working in more specialised environments such as quarries and fuel depot; You can clearly articulate complex technical concepts to different audiences, as well as being able to liaise directly with customers on incidents, escalations, SLA’s; and, Take the lead on some installations, as required, commensurate to experience level. What we are looking for Experienced of working at height (above 2 metres) off either ladders, MEWPs or on a rooftops Experienced of installing Aerials, CCTV, Satellite or Wi-Fi radio systems Experienced in working in private homes or commercial premises Experienced in setting up internal home wireless access/router configurations Has demonstrable skills in providing an excellent, professional customer service Be open to learning new skills including configuring equipment Hold a full driving licence (ideally less than six points) Good standard of education and Industry standard accreditations Any knowledge of using the following tools/equipment would be advantageous: Speedtest.net/pingtest.net. Subnet and IP Calculator. PuTTY/Tera Term. Nslookup. Ipconfig/ifconfig.
