Title:Welding Technician

Position summary:


The expectation of the welding Technician is to support the Welding Engineer, primarily this role will involve ensuring welding operators are qualified and proficient in all aspects of their role.
 

Responsibilities:

On boarding of new welding operators (Interview competency test & Knowledge tests) Welder induction process – training on internal specifications and procedures including NADCAP requirements Provide guidance and support during initial qualification Mentor new welding operators to ensure product proficiency Develop and support operator training and competency plans (product cross training) Perform visual inspection providing feedback and guidance to continually improve product quality Continuously monitor welding processes and identify opportunities for improvement Provide guidance on re-work and repair processes Weld parameter and data card reviews

Minimum Requirements:

Confident communicator to provide guidance and tuition Candidates will be as a minimum time served with City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in welding. Previous experience of welding thin gauge aluminium and or stainless and nickel alloys is essential. Understanding of NADCAP requirements Knowledge of AWSD17.1 welder qualification Good organizational skills Computer skills necessary

This position may involve access to export controlled information and hardware where an export license would be required for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Employment will be subject to satisfactory security checks, export license approval, and if required, completion of a non-disclosure agreement
