We're recruiting a Warehouse Manager for one of our satellite sites in Sheffield, S4. This is a role with a high degree of autonomy and requires someone with the confidence and experience to effectively manage their own small site and team.

Our environment is fast-paced, and expectations are high. We employ positive team players, people who can deal with challenges and changing priorities with a smile on their face!

What we’re looking for from you:

  • Experienced Warehouse Manager or high-performing Supervisor
  • Confident and professional approach with team members, customers and third-party contacts
  • Strong communication, decision-making and influencing skills
  • Able to effectively prioritise workload to deliver exceptional results
  • Able to follow procedures, whilst sharing feedback/ideas for improvements in a constructive manner
  • Consistently act with integrity, dealing with issues in a transparent manner and maintaining a positive team culture
  • Comfortable with admin tasks (which will include listing product for sale, controlling paperwork records, updating computerised systems)
  • Happy to be hands-on whilst having the ability to take a step back when required
  • An inclusive style enabling all team members to be cross-trained and perform to the best of their abilities
  • A Forklift Licence (Reach & Counterbalance) or the willingness to undertake the training required to gain this

What an 'average' day might look like:

  • Opening/closing the site and conducting daily checks
  • Organising, picking and distributing customer collections and deliveries via a paper-based picking system, supported by a variety of computerised tools
  • Managing inbound deliveries from arrival at site to put away and listing
  • Ensuring that sales are up within a timescale set by Senior Management or Directors
  • Responding to queries from our Admin Team, other Managers or Directors
  • Managing customer site visits to view products
  • Preparing and listing product, and overseeing auction admin activity
  • Dealing with basic staff requirements and needs, and escalating appropriately

It's a varied role, with the scope to have a real impact. It’s not a role where you can hide away in an office all day – you’ll need to be out on the floor, alongside the team, for much of the day. You need to be a 'just get it done' type person - some days will be really tough, others will be straight-forward. Your willingness and ability to resolve problems without creating a drama will be critical. You should be someone who responds well to changing priorities, is resilient, and is comfortable with a very direct communication style within the business.

Working hours are from 7am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday with 30 minutes dinner – there is an expectation that in this role, the successful candidate would not be a clock-watcher and would understand that there may be a need to work a small amount of additional time outside of these hours when the business activities require it. We don't usually work weekends or Bank Holidays, but do offer overtime when needed.

We pay monthly, on the last working day of the month. Salary is dependent upon experience (please message with your expectations if considering the role and unsure whether the salary will meet your expectations), and the role is offered with an optional company vehicle. We offer 28 days holiday including bank holidays.
