Unmanned Surface Vehicle Operation Engineer (USV)

Are you an experienced operator of an USV, AUV or ROV looking for a role with excellent career progression, future overseas opportunities and chance to take full command over a new USV?

On offer is the chance to join an exciting company who have pioneered a new industry leading Unmanned Surface Vehicle, providing ocean-based data to energy infrastructure projects worldwide. With global investment backing, they are at the very start of a large period of growth and are looking to expand rapidly.

In this role you will initially start in an onshore position, responsible for the technical operation of a new 5-ton USV. From active mission piloting to technical diagnosis and fault finding - you will hold full responsibility over the operation of the vehicle - with the chance to progress and travel oversees if desirable.

This is the ideal role for an experienced USV, AUV or ROV operation engineer looking for an autonomous and influential role where you will contribute to the progression of an exciting and globally backed venture. You will be looking for a varied role where you have the chance to join the future of new USV technology, with technical training involved.

The role:

Full responsibility for the operation of a new USV.
Responsible for the USV operational performance, including fault finding, onboard diagnosis, hardware checks, software checks and more.
Co-ordination of mission variables, including passage plans, route optimisation, chart corrections and more.
Communication with port authorities and other internal and external stakeholders.
Post mission data analysis and reporting.The Person:

STCW Master qualified.
Strong experience in operating and leading USV, ROV or USV missions.
GMDSS - General Operators Certificate (GOW).
Experienced in marine navigation systems / software, satellite communications and digital charting.
Strong computer literacy skills.
Based in Portsmouth - or happy to commute to office on daily basis.
