JT Recruit are currently recruiting a new Trainee Workshop Technician for a permanent role based at the Materials Testing Laboratory in Derby. This is a brilliant opportunity for anyone keen to build a long-term career in technical engineering within a well-established and supportive company.

About the Role:

Our client is a global leader in Total Quality Assurance, working across industries including aerospace, oil & gas, rail, automotive, construction, and more.

Key Duties:

  • Sectioning of received samples for further machining

  • Machining test specimens in accordance with required specifications for materials testing and analysis

  • Working in a fast-paced workshop environment

  • Keeping the workspace clean and organised

  • Daily equipment checks to ensure peak performance

    Full Training Provided

    Experience in machining or engineering is a plus but not essential – all relevant training will be provided.

    Pay & Hours:

    Monday – Friday 06.00-14.00

    Ideal Candidate:

  • Basic machining knowledge (advantageous, not essential)

  • Basic understanding of materials and machining techniques

  • Good IT literacy

  • Keen to learn, reliable, and a strong team player
