The basics:

Job title: Trainee Mechanical Fitter

Location: Derby

Industry: Precision engineering

Pay: £24,503.63 rising to £25,674.21 after 3 month probation. Plus overtime available to increase earning potential.

Overtime: paid at 1.5 Mon-Sat and Double on Sundays

Hours: 36.5 hours each week working Monday 15.00 - 01.00am and Tuesday to Thursday 15.00 - 00.30.

Holidays and Benefits: Death in Service Benefit - 2 x annual salary, Pension 5% and 3% by employer, Holidays are 5.6 weeks of annual leave per year inc. bank holidays, increasing to 6.6 weeks inc. bank holidays following 1 year of continuous service.

Key responsibilities of the Trainee Mechanical Fitter:

You will be tasked to finish off precision engineered machined and fabricated parts so that the customer gets a first class finished component.

Using hand held tools such as pillar drills, grinding equipment, orbital sanders and general hand tools you will be working within first class modern manufacturing facilities for a company that can offer progression into other departments.

The ideal candidate / Trainee Mechanical Fitter may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

  • An engineering interest / background or some relevance towards engineering and manufacturing

  • A hands of mechanically minded person with the ability to use hand tools

  • Strong communication skills and an eye for detail

    Commutable from: Derby, Long Eaton, Burton, Ilkeston, Nottingham, Heanor and surrounding areas.
