Our client is a specialist Manufacturer of Precision Sand Cast Aluminium and Steel castings for the automotive and motor sport Engineering Industry.
This client is an award-winning innovative leader in the design, engineering, and manufacture of high-integrity complex castings for world-leading manufacturers.
We are looking for an all-rounder person who has a great interest in entering the field of the Automotive and Aerospace Engineering industry.
Paying a start rate of £12.50, rising to £14.50/£15 + after 12 months- 40 hours per week plus overtime at time and a half. Early morning starts but with some flexibility.
This is a Temp to Perm role to start immediately.
The positions will involve all training, but the person must be extremely keen to learn what is involved in this very varied role, and there is the opportunity to attain a level 3 Foundry Cast metals Diploma.
*The 3 areas of training are as follows:
A FOUNDRY OPERATOR/ MOULDER
Processing of Sand MOULDS and Sand CORES for the process and manufacturing of Automotive and Aerospace Castings, whilst performing a variety of creative tasks in the production of cast metal products, working with materials such as Aluminium and Magnesium alloys which are heated to 750 degrees.
Metal pouring into sand moulds within the Foundry. (Full training provided)
Health and Safety- Protective overalls will be supplied.
The ideal candidate will have had some experience of working in a manufacturing environment, have good physical stamina, and attention to detail.
The ability to follow instructions carefully is also essential.
Full training will be provided.
NB
Additionally, we are looking for an additional person to join the CORE Dept, responsible for the sand filling operation, sand plugging, working with 3D shapes (Sand Moulds) which requires great concentration and a keen eye for detail.
Again, a reliable person with the ability to apply high levels of concentration and dexterity.
FOUNDRY LABOURER-
• This position will involve the manual knocking out of Sand Moulds with the care and precision involved (Expensive moulds) and assisting with the metal pouring within the Foundry. (Full training provided)
• The right applicant must be physically fit and used to heavy manual work experience of working in a physically demanding heavy industrial environment would be an advantage.
• A Forklift licence would also be an asset in this role.
GRINDING & FINISHING DEPARTMENT-FETTLER
• Responsible for performing a variety of tasks using electric hand tools and abrasive machinery in the production of cast metal products, finishing/dressing metal products.
• Using hand-held cutting and grinding machinery.
• This position involves deburring and removing excess material from castings using electric cutting and deburring tools and abrasive machinery.
