My client is seeking a Trainee Build Technician to join them on a permanent basis.

As a Trainee Build Technician, you will learn and develop the necessary skills and knowledge to assist in the assembly, installation, and testing of landing gear components.

You will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to gain practical experience in following assembly procedures to ensure the safe and reliable operation of aircraft landing gear systems.

Role:Trainee Build Technician
Pay:From £25,627 per annum
Location:West London (Hybrid after a period of familiarisation)
Hours:40 hours per week Monday to Friday

Candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK unrestricted.

Job Profile

  1. The assembly of mechanical components and installation of hydraulic and electrical systems to aircraft undercarriages and associated hardware.
  2. Assembly being conducted in line with all OEM, legislative, and industry requirements providing right first time, quality primary structural aircraft products.
  3. Management of consumable items.
  4. Ensuring the correct functioning of the quality infrastructure.
  5. Inspection/duplicate inspection of completed assemblies/sub-assemblies.
  6. Liaison with associated departments.
  7. Precise work scheduling.
  8. All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with safety and environmental regulations and company procedures.
  9. An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the company's environmental procedures.
  10. AOG/On Wing support if required.

Skills/Experience Required

  1. Ideally, applicants will have served an aircraft-related apprenticeship or equivalent with experience in a similar service industry.
  2. Emphasis placed upon those applicants that have served within an EASA/FAA approved organization.
  3. Experience of assembly of components.
  4. Extensive amount of experience working in an airline/aerospace related environment.
  5. Able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the legislative and quality system requirements.
  6. Good understanding of Excel and Word.
  7. Knowledge of company health and safety practices.
  8. Evidence of people management skills.
  9. Good communicator - ability to communicate with staff on business and other issues.
  10. Assist in resolving issues that may affect delivery of gears and struts on time.
