A global business supplying a range of parts and components across numerous industries including Nuclear and Aerospace is seeking to add a Toolmaker to their innovative team.
Reporting to the Toolroom Manager, the Toolmaker will possess strong Toolmaking skills and technical knowledge, which will be used to Manufacture Mould Tools; jigs and fixtures.
Your duties as Toolmaker will include -
Identifying tooling requirements Identifying and solving Mechanical/Manufacturing issues in the current product range in conjunction with Inspection and Design departments Carrying out routine maintenance and housekeeping duties Effective operation of CNC Millers and CAM software Producing jigs and fixtures to aid production cells throughout the business Working from engineering drawings to produce and/or modify injection mould tools Working from engineering drawings and requests to supply parts of a suitable quality and functionality to satisfy project manufacture of trial and conceptual development components Effective operation of manual machines such as millers, lathes and surface grinders Effective operation of EDM CNC Wire Eroders, Spark Eroders and Fast Hole drilling machines Function testing, evaluating and documenting all component trials and development Giving advice and guidance to apprentices as required
To be successful in the role of Toolmaker, the ideal candidate will have -
A time served engineering apprenticeship or a HND in Mechanical Engineering General Knowledge of Injection Moulding Familiarity with all traditional machining and fitting practices Experience with CNC Millers and CAM software Experience with EDM CNC Wire Eroders, Spark Eroders and Fast Hole drilling machines High attention to detail

A salary of up to £38K depending on experience Day hours of Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4pm 32 days holiday including bank holidays – increases with length of service Monthly bonus after 6 months’ probation Longer term career prospects with ongoing training/development
Located in Nottinghamshire, this role is commutable from Ilkeston, Matlock, Mansfield, Southwell and all surrounding areas
