Salt Separation Services have been leading in desalination technology for over 35 years; specialising in the engineering, commissioning and servicing of reverse osmosis (RO) plants that provide drinkable water solutions across a variety of industries. Our systems are used in sectors including naval, oil, cruise ships, and more. Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Business Development:Actively promote the company'sproducts and servicesto both new and existing customers.
  • Field-Based Engagement:Spend3.5 days per weekmeeting customers, attending exhibitions, and identifying new opportunities.
  • Office-Based Work:Dedicate1 day per weekto sales planning, reporting, and team collaboration.
  • Client Relationship Management:Maintain and develop relationships with customers through face-to-face meetings, calls, and emails.
  • Market & Competitor Analysis:Gather market intelligence and develop external communication strategies.
  • Sales Strategy & Forecasting:Work closely with theTechnical & Commercial Directorto set sales targets and provide accurate sales forecasts.
  • Negotiation & Closing Sales:Understand customer requirements, present tailored solutions, and negotiate contracts to successfully close deals.
  • Quotations & Technical Support:Prepare and oversee the preparation of quotations, handling technical customer inquiries with confidence.
  • Exhibitions & Trade Events:Represent the company at industry exhibitions, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Continuous Improvement:Support the professional development of other Sales Team members through shadowing and mentoring.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


Skills & Attributes:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management and organisational abilities
  • In-depth technical knowledge of water treatment solutions and reverse osmosis plants
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Strong customer and service focus
  • Commercially astute with experience in budget management
  • Data-driven mindset with analytical capabilities
  • A commitment to self-development and continuous improvement
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in technical sales, business development, or account management
  • A background in water treatment, engineering, or capital equipment sales
  • Experience within regulated industries such as Aerospace, MOD, Industrial, or Marine is desirable
  • Previous exposure to long sales cycles and technical proposal preparation
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership to develop strategic sales initiatives
