Job Description

What will you be doing? 

As a Systems Interface Engineer,you will joinour Aberdeen team to support our activities within theMaritime sector. Are you ready to shape the future ofsubsea engineering? ALTEN is looking for aSystems Interface Engineerto lead the charge in designing and deliveringadvanced underwater vision systems working on cutting-edge projects that includeunderwater cameras, fibre-optic multiplexers, and LED lighting systems.

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Take ownership ofelectrical systems interfaces, including harnesses, power requirements, and system integration.
  • Manage theend-to-end product lifecycle, from concept design to validation, certification, and final delivery.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless design and manufacturing processes forunderwater vision systems.
  • Define and implement systems requirements, ensuring compatibility withsubsea environments.
  • Validate and test products to meet strict industry standards and ensure reliability inhazardous or underwater conditions.
  • Provide technical leadership for system design improvements and collaborate on cutting-edge innovations.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

  • Adegree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 1–4 years of experiencein system design and integration, preferably in industries likemarine, energy, defence, or aerospace.
  • Strong background inelectrical/controls engineering, including harness design, interfaces, and power distribution.
  • Experience withproduct development processes, including design, testing, and certification.
  • Familiarity with tools and frameworks forsystems engineeringandproduct validation.
  • Eligibility forBPSS clearance(required).
