Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, the NDT Tech II performs basic nondestructive testing to verify the structural integrity of Titanium and Aluminum Rotating Hardware, uses conventional and automated ultrasonic, radiographic, Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and other NDT test methods, e.g., FPI, and performs NDT on aircraft parts and evaluate test results by analyzing and interpreting the data in accordance with customer requirements
Job Responsibilities
- Performing NDT Tests on various Rotating Hardware.
- Undertaking training in NDT Methods to achieve Level 2 in Eddy Current, Fluorescent Penetrant, Radiographic, and Ultrasonic Testing to Specification NAS-410.
- Implementing Procedures, Instruction & Techniques as required.
- Performing Control Checks on Test Method capability.
- Documenting and advising local team members of test outcome
- Review and implement customer requirements; such as: Engineering Drawings, Process Specifications and other industry standards. Develop and maintain processes, test methodology and procedures. Understand manufacturing methods and part construction, as it relates to the NDT data.
- Operate ultrasonic equipment; such as: a-scan & resonance scopes, phased array equipment and automated scanning systems. Operate x-ray equipment; such as: robotic scanners and computed radiography data acquisition systems.
- Other test equipment may include: eddy current scopes and helium mass spectrometers.
- Identify and investigate new technologies, processes and/or procedures to maintain or improve NDT capabilities, efficiencies, etc.
- Interface with engineers, internal & external customers, manufacturing personnel and management to improve processes. Provide guidance, leadership and instruction to other NDT technicians.
- Integrate improvements to realize benefits in cost, cycle, and customer satisfaction.
- Performs other assignments and tasks as directed.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- 1+ years of experience utilizing Non-Destructive Testing in a manufacturing environment
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- GKN Experience
- Previous experience in a FAA Repair work-center
- Project / Program Management
- Familiarity with AS9145 APQP process or equivalent
- Experience in a classroom setting of nondestructive testing of metallic and/or nonmetallic materials training.
- Approved accumulated number of hours required on the job training and/or certification.
- Must acquire and maintain nondestructive testing certification by passing required certification written and practical examinations.
- Skills include knowledge of conventional and automated, robotic testing systems, good communications and computer skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member.

Compensation Range
The compensation range for this position is $26.25 - $30.00 per hour.
