Job Description

We are working on behalf of a leading test engineering company that develops cutting-edge test and measurement solutions for top-tier high-tech manufacturers.

As a key member of the Engineering Team, reporting directly to the Engineering Leader, you will be responsible for translating customer engineering requirements into tailored software solutions. The role involves working with both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components and custom-designed interfaces, including LabVIEW and other software programs. You will be involved in designing system concepts, developing bespoke software, and troubleshooting issues. This role offers the opportunity to create a wide variety of custom products that provide clients with high-quality engineered solutions delivered on time, every time. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, passionate about engineering, and committed to delivering projects on time. You should also be eager to gain hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing, and commissioning diverse equipment.

Key Requirements

  • 3+ years of software design and development experience using National Instruments LabVIEW (CLD+ preferred)

  • Experience in automated testing, measurement, or control

  • System design and specification expertise

  • Ability to create top-level system diagrams and drawings

  • Experience with system testing and fault finding

Essential Criteria

  • Team-oriented with a drive to progress to senior levels

  • In-depth knowledge of National Instruments LabVIEW

  • Proven track record in systems engineering

  • Experience in creating high-level system designs, including specifying instrumentation and sensors

  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to contribute to a dynamic business

  • Capable of working to tight deadlines and delivering projects on time

  • Ability to interpret customer requirements effectively

  • Experience managing projects within tight budgets and timelines

  • Strong organisational skills to manage targets independently

  • Ability to collaborate within a multi-skilled design team

Desirable Criteria

  • Familiarity with GPIB, RS232, TCP/IP, and LXI

  • Experience using C/C++

  • Previous experience in the aerospace and defense industry

  • Proven experience in designing bespoke test equipment
