Capgemini Engineering is looking for Space Systems Engineering Consultants to join out rapidly growing team to support one of the UK’s leading Aerospace organisations.


Our portfolio of projects includes work at all stages of the system lifecycle, from concept definition to in-service support. As well as directly supporting systems engineering tasks for our clients, we also offer consultancy services to improve organisations systems capabilities and enable digital transformation.


Capgemini Operates a hybrid working model with a combination of office and home-based working. This role will require approximately half of the time to be spent working in offices in Stevenage.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.​

Your Role


As a consultant within Capgemini, you will be working alongside some of the top experts in the country, on some of the largest and most complex client engagements across the space sector. You will be given the opportunity to grow and take on responsibility from day one in a challenging but rewarding and meritocratic environment.


  • Concept, Development, Validation and Verification (V&V) of Space systems.
  • Leading end-to-end change management across the product V-cycle.
  • Supporting the formulation, decomposition, validation, and full traceability of system requirements.
  • Planning, execution, and summarizing V&V tasks.
  • Facilitating cross-functional team collaboration and liaising with specialists and discipline leads.
  • Test campaign support, test requests preparation, and results analysis.
  • Managing requirements and V&V using IBM Rational DOORS.
  • Technical documentation and analysis.
  • Managing document release with the Windchill platform.
  • Non-compliance management
  • Consulting with stakeholders to elicit and manage their capability needs and define requirements.
  • Proposing solutions to address client needs.
  • Supporting bid work, including costing and technical proposal generation for future system studies.
  • Presenting at meetings and workshops.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience and knowledge of space systems.
  • Knowledge of V-cycle and change management process.
  • Strong understanding of Systems Engineering theory and processes and being able to adapt existing approaches and define new ones.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of product development, validation, and verification.
  • Knowledge and experience of aerospace testing, methods, and processes.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, and chemical propulsion
  • Experience using systems engineering tools including IBM Rational DOORS and Windchill.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite.
  • Comfortable handling ambiguity & uncertainty.
  • Knowledge and experience of certification is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of ARP4754A and DO178C is an advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience of MBSE and SysML modelling languages is an advantage.

Your Security Clearance


To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks. ​

There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.​

There are other criteria and checks required for BPSS, and throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
