Support Engineer - Innovative Technology Company, Port Talbot

Hours are 8:00 - 16:45 Monday to Friday, with a 2pm finish on Friday.

The Role

Reporting directly to the R&D Team Lead, this is a pivotal role within our dynamic technology company. You will be at the forefront of supporting our cutting-edge Ultrasonic Level and Density Systems, which are vital to the LPG, Beverage, and Chemical industries. Our intelligent products transmit real-time performance data via advanced 4G/5G telemetry, enabling us to proactively monitor and ensure optimal customer performance.

As a Support Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to guarantee the seamless operation of our customer's systems. You will leverage the wealth of data generated by our devices to drive continuous performance improvements. This involves in-depth analysis of ultrasonic signals, implementing necessary adjustments for efficiency, and collaborating closely with the R&D team to integrate these learning's into our AI-powered system for automated optimisation.

You will play a crucial role in supporting new installations globally through remote connectivity, ensuring correct functionality and providing expert troubleshooting.

This role demands close collaboration with customers, the R&D team, Operations, and our international partners.

Roles & Responsibilities

Maintain the up-time of our Ultrasonic level and density systems through proactive data review and analysis of live systems. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues effectively.
Analyse system data and collaborate with the R&D team to develop automated system improvements.
Enhance our remote support capabilities, focusing on creating more automated diagnostic and improvement tools.
Provide exceptional customer support by remotely connecting to installations to verify correct operation and resolve any technical challenges.
Contribute to the design and upgrades of new products in collaboration with the development team.
Deliver training to field engineers and distributors.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement within our R&D Department.Qualifications & Essential Criteria

Ideally 3 to 4 years of experience in field service or commissioning.
Strong background in Electronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation.
Engineering or technical degree or equivalent qualification.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Proficient IT skills, particularly within MS Office.
A proactive, energetic, and self-motivated individual capable of working independently.
Willingness to undertake occasional site visits to support development and technical sales activities.
Flexibility to travel overseas occasionally.
Full driving licence.Desirable

Knowledge of ATEX certification.
Familiarity with ultrasonic instrumentation.
CAD proficiency.
