Position Available:Manufacturing Engineer

Location:Greater Manchester (1-2 days onsite)

Salary:Up to £38,000 DoE + Bonus

Experience needed:We are looking for a manufacturing-biased professional who has had experience of validating suppliers within a complex engineering environment such as aerospace, defence, or automotive.

About the role:

An opportunity has arisen in an expanding team responsible for the technical validation of the external supply chain to ensure the successful delivery of parts required for full-rate production. This role requires experience in manufacturing engineering, quality, and project delivery, as well as a strong understanding of industrial validation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and validate supplier capability to meet requirements.
  • Support suppliers in developing robust manufacturing systems and control plans to ensure on-quality, on-time, and on-cost delivery in series production.
  • Undertake industrial validation activities, including Process FMEAs, Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) assessments, and Production Readiness Reviews in preparation for series production.
  • Manage a portfolio of suppliers across multiple projects on a day-to-day basis.
  • Identify and communicate manufacturing and supply chain risks, implementing improvement and mitigation plans.
  • Manage and validate elements of manufacturing capability transfer from in-house to suppliers
  • Track and report validation status to senior industrial engineers, management, and wider stakeholders.

What we need from you:

  • A manufacturing engineering biased professional with strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques
  • Experience within a complex engineering environment, such as defence, aerospace, or automotive
  • Proficiency in industrial validation tools e.g. APQP, Process FMEAs, Process Mapping, MRL Assessments, and Production Readiness Reviews
  • A strong background in problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies
