We are looking for Supplier Quality Engineers & Supplier Development Engineers to join a premium UK-based sportscar OEM at their state-of-the-art facility in Surrey.
This contract role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance automotive environment, working with suppliers to resolve quality issues, support new product introduction, and drive continuous improvement in yield, RFT, capability, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities (duties will vary dependant of role and experience)
· Supplier Quality & Development: Oversee quality and development initiatives to improve supplier performance.
· Supplier Audits & Support: Conduct supplier audits and provide training to improve quality systems and performance.
· Control Shipment Levels (CSL): Plan and execute CSL activities as needed, tracking supplier performance.
· Quality Issue Resolution: Work with suppliers and stakeholders to address quality issues, implement containment actions, and manage corrective actions.
· Performance Improvement: Drive improvements in supplier operations, delivery, and productivity, focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs).
· New Product/Change Introduction: Manage APQP and ensure successful PPAP achievements with suppliers.
· Cost Recovery: Collect cost recovery data and prepare Chargeback Forms to hold suppliers accountable.
· Reporting: Prepare and present daily/weekly reports on supplier performance and corrective actions to stakeholders.
Experience & Knowledge Required
· Proven experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Supplier Development in automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing.
· Strong working knowledge of containment processes (CSL 1 / CSL 2) and inspection methodologies.
· Hands-on experience with 8D problem-solving, 5-Why, and Fishbone diagrams.
· Familiarity with quality standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
· Ability to analyse data, track trends, and use quality performance metrics (PPM, defect rates, NCRs).
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
· Comfortable working with ERP or quality management systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Qualifications (or Equivalent Work Experience)
· Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality Management.
· Certifications in ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 are desirable.
· Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) is a plus.
· Recognized qualification in problem-solving methodologies (e.g. 8D) is advantageous.
