ALTEN is seeking a Spacecraft AIT Engineer to support cutting-edge satellite missions within a cleanroom and launch-preparation environment. You’ll be joining our dynamic team of consultants delivering hands-on mechanical integration, testing, and alignment activities for high-value space systems.

What will you be doing?

  • Working in cleanroom environments, following AIT and ESD safety rules.
  • Reading and interpreting MICD documentation and 3D models (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, NX).
  • Supporting hardware alignment activities using laser or optical methods.
  • Carrying out precision mechanical measurements using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and laser trackers.
  • Assisting with wiring, adhesive application, and MLI (Multi-Layer Insulation) installation (training will be provided).
  • Operating MGSE (Mechanical Ground Support Equipment) including lifting tools and handling frames (training will be provided).
  • Supporting environmental testing such as vibration, thermal vacuum (TVAC), acoustic, and mass property testing (training will be provided).
  • Contributing to technical documentation and reporting during test campaigns.
  • Supporting launch campaign activities such as integration, fit checks, and transport preparation (training will be provided).

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or related
  • Previous experience in mechanical assembly, integration, or testing of space or aerospace systems.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom procedures and ESD precautions.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation such as mechanical drawings and interface control documents.
  • Experience with measurement and alignment tools (CMMs, micrometers, laser trackers).
  • Ability to work independently to strict procedures and standards.
