Role & Duties

Key responsibilities:

Developing and maintaining software solutions for Operational Technology - OT and adjacent systems

Producing turnkey projects including user requirements, and design and test documentation

Support and maintain our secure development environment

Improvement of internal procedures and processes

Expectations:

A highly competent technical person, who can fulfil technical project delivery.

Ability to produce design documentation and follow process.

The role should aim to proactively identify other opportunities within the current client base.

Flexibility to undertake new challenges and learn new technologies.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

You will have the ability to translate complex technical ideas and processes into efficient and complete software solutions.

You will be methodical, detail oriented, and proficient in creating self-documenting code as well as comprehensive documentation.

Background in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field

Technical understanding, covering at a minimum:

-Linux and Linux based systems work.

-Scripting and automation.

-IP based networking, and network deployment principles

Proficient in the use of programming tools such as Visual Studio

Ability to deploy good coding techniques, patterns and algorithms in one or more mainstream languages.

Familiarity with software development lifecycles.

Experience in the use of version control systems.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

Completed technical higher education in the field of industrial automation, computer science, electronics or another relevant field.

Working experience within Control Systems and Operational Technology - OT

Demonstrable experience producing software solutions within OT/ICS environments

Ideally, you'll also have:

Key sector experience in: Oil & Gas, Utilities or Energy industry, or other Critical National Infrastructure or Operators of Essential Services.

Awareness of good cyber security standards and design

Demonstrable experience in the use and deployment of virtualised and container systems.

Capability to develop professional documents in the form of reports, analysis, and methodologies in the English language.

Understanding of security-related operational processes in the IoT/OT-ICS environments
