Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.? Vishay Siliconix is currently seeking applicants for aVice President, Global Wafer Fab Operations.

In this position you will be responsible for leading front end wafer Fab Operations in house and foundries operation on Worldwide base. Specific to in house manufacturing, ensuring that all aspects of wafer production, including processes, support systems and equipment/tools, operate in an efficient and effective manner. This includes continuous improvement of fab operations up-time, production cycle time, yield, and operational productivity. This position will lead the manufacturing team including process engineers, equipment engineers, tool operators, and equipment maintenance technicians and is responsible for all aspects of production. Defines goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems in conjunction with managers of manufacturing, quality assurance and engineering. Develops operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Maintains safety and regulatory compliance relating to the production facility.

Preferred location is near one of our factories in Itzehoe, Germany or Newport, UK.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Be an active contributor to both strategic and tactical needs supporting business development and business operations teams.
  • Review tool set and setup acquisition process to facilitate the implementation of chosen technologies.
  • Execution of Unit Process Development supporting the Process Technology Roadmap for the division.
  • Establish mechanisms for process technology development or transfer to/from other factories.
  • Manage key subcontractor relationships with various suppliers that support fab operations including but not limited to tools, materials, chemicals, gases, etc.
  • Interface with industry, universities and national laboratories to be up to date with latest developments and to created pipelines for key talent. Forecast and track fab operation costs and keep costs under control and within budget.
  • Implement a culture of continuous operational improvement within the Fab Operations team. Other duties as assigned.
  • Manage foundries to assure same KPIs execution as internal manufacturing. This includes yield and cost improvement
  • Fab operations covers Back-Metal and Back-grinding and additional top metal deposition (when necessary) centers

What You Will Bring Along

  • A Master's degree preferred in material science, chemistry, physics or electrical engineering.
  • A minimum of 15 years of management experience, working in Front End wafer Fab management positions and has had at least 10 years of experience in a Front End Factory or has experience in management of Front End managing engineers, maintenance, equipment engineering, process engineering and operators.
  • Experience in developing and implementing new Fab from greenfield will be a positive addition.
  • Has extensive know-how in 8D, OCAPs and work instructions.
  • Is familiar with SPC, FDC and automation system. Can work tactically and strategically on optimizing WIP management, cycle time, and wafer cost in order to maximize the factory performance.
  • Understands basic principles of films, diffusion, implant, etch, CMP, cleaning and photo processes.
  • Experience in leading large organizations.
  • A strong leader than can effectively communicate to create a strong team environment, inspire excellence, and followership.
  • Capable of being a promoter of cross functional collaboration and leadership, fostering a positive and cohesive team across the site Strong and passionate in both semiconductor process technology and operations.
