Principal Accountabilities:

Subject Matter Expert for the Zayo Europe Telemetry network.

Responsible for developing and implementing network telemetry systems that will collect and aggregate metrics and other relevant data from network devices and services on the Zayo Europe Network.

Lead the development of the telemetry network required to provide a real-time view of network and service performance & critical out-of-band management access to all production systems.

Provide thought leadership, technical guidance and recommendations to internal teams and stakeholders as required to define new products and services.

Work closely with Design and equipment vendors to implement changes, additions and upgrades to Telemetry infrastructure.

Create and publish standards & documentation of new telemetry architectures and configurations as required.

Research, develop and publish life-cycle plans and roadmaps for new & existing network telemetry technologies.

Providing support to members of the wider Operations team as required.

Support & maintain the company objectives of ISO 9001/18001/27001 accreditation.

Key Skills and Experience:

3 - 5 years of experience on a service provider network in Operations, Engineering, Architecture or Design roles.

Deep and substantial operational experience with carrier-class routers, console servers & switches, (experience with Juniper and Cisco required).

Excellent knowledge of L2 & L3 routing protocols, (IPv4+IPv6/BGP/ISIS/VPLS/IP VPN/MPLS/QinQ/ELINE) and good understanding of firewalls & network security practices (AAA, TACACS, RADIUS, log management, ACLs, security policies & ACLs, etc).

Good, working knowledge & experience with DWDM networks and optical networking standards is advantageous.

Salesforce experience is a plus.

Confident and able to challenge staff, suppliers, and processes, to deliver a favourable Customer outcome.

Pragmatic and analytical approach to problem solving.

Accountability oriented.

Proactive mindset and attitude to ensure customer satisfaction in everything we do.

Excellent communication; written and verbal.

Ability to diversify and adapt to any changes in business needs or requirements.
