An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the development of next-generation aerospace technologies. The role offers the chance to work on a wide range of critical control systems across both civil and military aerospace programmes. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of safety-critical solutions in accordance with industry standards such as ARP4754, DO-178, and DO-254-ideally at the highest Design Assurance Level (DAL).

The Role:

So, what will you be doing as aSenior Systems Engineer?

  • Develop engineering solutions for aerospace applications using a structured systems engineering approach.
  • Engage with customers to elicit and define key stakeholder requirements.
  • Translate customer requirements into realisable and verifiable product-level requirements.
  • Plan and execute requirements-based verification and validation using manual and scripted methods.
  • Generate systems engineering artefacts in support of ARP4754, DO-178, and DO-254 compliance.
  • Produce essential documentation such as system design documents, interface control documents, and verification reports.
  • Manage engineering change across the product development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical proposals, including estimations and customer presentations.

What are we looking for in our nextSenior Systems Engineer?

  • Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Visio.
  • Practical experience with DOORS for requirements management (DXL knowledge is a plus).
  • Demonstrated experience developing solutions for safety-critical systems aligned with ARP4754, DO-178, and DO-254.
  • Working knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Familiarity with change control and defect tracking tools and processes.
  • Involvement in SOI audits and certification reviews.
  • Experience with SysML and systems architecture modelling.
  • Understanding of functional safety principles (IEC 61508).
  • Knowledge of military aerospace standards and processes.
