Senior Satellite Communications Systems Engineer

Type:Full-time | Permanent

Salary:Up to £80,000 (Depending on experience)


Our client, a leading global provider of satellite and space services, is seeking a Senior Satellite Communications Systems Engineer to support projects utilising the latest space technology. Operating across the UK and internationally, they deliver innovative solutions in satellite communications, navigation, Earth observation, and space operations. This role offers the chance to work at the forefront of satellite system design and operations for critical government, commercial, and international applications.


Key Responsibilities as a Senior Satellite Communications Systems Engineer

• Design and develop advanced satellite communication systems.

• Deliver impactful presentations and solutions to stakeholders.

• Lead technical problem-solving and engineering analysis.

• Produce system documentation, including requirements and test plans.

• Contribute to secure and scalable architecture designs.


Essential:

• 5–10 years’ experience in a relevant field.

• Degree in Space Systems Engineering, Electronics, or Communications or related field.

• Knowledge in satellite system design, ground segment, and payload operations.

• Familiarity with IP networking, data security, and systems engineering processes (V&V, integration).

• Strong system design documentation and technical writing skills.

• Awareness of software development environments, languages, and methodologies


Desirable:

• Chartered Engineer (or working towards it).

• Experience with commissioning, testing, OSS/BSS, or secure architectures.

• Programming skills (e.g., Python, Java); Agile or DevOps knowledge.

• Interest in emerging tech (5G, optical, quantum systems).
