Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Senior Sales Engineer for Global Government clients to join our team and play a critical role in representing a technology revolution in space. In this position, you'll work closely with razor-sharp colleagues in Commercial & Product Management, Sales, and Service Management contributing directly to our ongoing projects and initiatives. What You'll Do:

  • As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in our business growth.
  • Working as a technical specialist member of the customer-facing sales team, you will understand the customer's business needs and match them to a compelling service solution comprising elements from the Eutelsat OneWeb product and services catalogue targeting the Government sector.
  • You will use your broad engineering knowledge and consultative techniques to ensure that our distribution partners provide the best possible solutions for their customers.
  • This role is instrumental in our revenue growth, supporting the commercial team as they drive the growth of our business in the Government services sector.
  • Your role will include in-depth customer technical support, leading technical trials, influencing market requirements, and driving sales.

What You'll Need:

  • Technical pre-sales support in promoting Eutelsat Group's products to our customers (Distribution Partners and telcos) in the Government Services Sector both Civ and Mil across all regions except the US.
  • Liaise with key target customers to influence the early stages of the sales cycle, qualify the prospect, and shape product and service offerings.
  • Use extensive technical knowledge and analytical skills to address customer questions around capability, system performance, network integration, and competitive positioning.
  • Operate as the technical expert and customer solutions engineer for Eutelsat OneWeb's products, services, and wider technologies critical to our commercial team; keep current in this technology and become a thought leader and trusted consultant to their customer base.
  • Drive the communication of the capabilities of the Eutelsat Group global network to prospective customers and assist in the capture of evolving market requirements to drive product development life cycles.
  • Define and oversee customer trials, including developing demonstrations of common customer use cases and pre-service end-to-end service trials.
  • Interface with key end-users to educate them about the key aspects of OneWeb's products and services.
  • Be part of a bid team to provide logical, technically robust, and commercially persuasive responses to formal and informal RFPs and RFIs.

What It Takes:

  • Proven experience in providing robust technical advice and solutions to Government customers.
  • Understanding of the Government customer base, Telco, and Carrier challenges; any previous experience working with the Government for non-terrestrial line of sight services would be an advantage.
  • Very good knowledge of end-to-end Satellite, Data Network Solutions, Traffic Management, QoS, and Network Security.
  • Knowledge of Network Routing and Satellite networks.
  • Strong communication skills: ability to articulate technical material to both a technical and non-technical audience verbally and as a technical author.
  • Ability to obtain security clearances when/if required for engagement on specific service offerings.
  • Commercially astute; strong negotiation skills, and a proven ability to influence customer interactions and requirements in line with wider divisional/corporate goals.
  • Be a creative thinker and solution-focused.

What We'd Love:

  • BSc/BEng in a relevant technical degree or equivalent industry experience (Electrical/Electronic Engineering/ Telecommunications/Computer Sciences).
  • Technical understanding of existing conventional VSAT systems, Milsatcom systems, and other GEO & LEO systems supporting Satellite Services for comparison and competitive positioning purposes.
  • An advantage would be knowledge of Satcoms User Terminal Equipment used in Mobile, deployable, and fixed installations for different service use cases.
  • Working knowledge of IP Networking and Quality of Service (QoS) using DSCP for Voice.
  • An advantage would be 3GPP/LTE systems knowledge.
  • Willing to travel internationally with cultural awareness, and the ability to build regional market knowledge and intelligence.
