Join Our Team as a Senior Process Engineer!

Are you an experienced Process Engineer with a passion for innovation and excellence? We’re looking for a dynamic individual to join our team and lead the way in optimising our production plants and driving impactful capital and continuous improvement projects.

Role Purpose:

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will provide expertise and drive Process Engineering forward in our production plants. You’ll lead the design and execution of capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance. Additionally, you will lead a small team of 1 to 3 Process Engineers, fostering their development and ensuring effective collaboration with internal teams and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership:Serve as the subject matter expert in Process Engineering, offering technical input for plant improvements and capital projects.
  • Project Design:Lead the Process Engineering design for capital projects, including optioneering, equipment specification, and detailed design.
  • Documentation:Create, check, and approve process engineering deliverables and vendor documents such as PFDs, mass and energy balances, P&IDs, and more.
  • Safety and Compliance:Lead hazard studies, relief and blowdown studies, area classification reviews, and LOPA reviews.
  • Commissioning:Oversee the commissioning of new equipment, ensuring smooth integration and beneficial operation.
  • Optimisation:Deliver plant optimisation projects to reduce operating costs and increase production output.
  • Support and Troubleshooting:Provide technical expertise to the Operations team for troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
  • Mentorship:Coach and mentor less experienced engineers.
  • Standards and Systems:Support the implementation and maintenance of engineering standards and systems.
  • Project Management:Ensure capital projects meet SHE, quality, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a small Process Engineering team (1 to 3 engineers), providing guidance, mentoring, and support in day-to-day activities and long-term development.

Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience delivering major capital projects on COMAH regulated production plants.
  • Extensive knowledge of Process Safety, including hazard studies, functional safety, DSEAR, and pressure relief.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Practical application of continuous improvement methods (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) and project management methods.

Qualifications:

  • Essential:Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chartered Engineer status.
  • Desirable:Six Sigma Green Belt.
