A sector leading manufacturer of complex precision components supplied to the aerospace, defence and energy sectors has a new vacancy for a Senior Mechanical Engineer. You will be responsible for improving manufacturing processes through the design and introduction of new equipment into production.
Key Responsibilities
Support the business on engineering issues and problem solving activities.
Create CAD models and assemblies with detailed 2D drawings to provide information on manufacturing/assembly requirements.
Assist with the preparation of project scope and agree appropriate technical specifications.
Test prototypes with team and recommend improvement where necessary.
Create test criteria and organise functionality testing to ensure the machine/equipment reliability performance as requested.
Work with Quality team, production and support functions on test requirements for new equipment.
Obtain quotes and provide cost calculations on machines and tooling using cost calculation sheet provided.
Keep stakeholders regularly updated on project progress
The Person
A degree or equivalent in an Engineering related discipline
Experience with implementing new processes into production.
Knowledge of complex jigs & fixtures and machinery design.
Previous experience working in a highly complex and regulated environment.
Understanding of the theory and application to conducting complex analysis with FEA.
A strong understand of materials and manufacturing methods
