Job Title: Senior Engineer- Aviation
Salary:£42,000- £48,000 per annum dependent on experience
Location: UK Wide (hybrid role)
We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Senior Engineer- Aviation. The role will require travel to Glasgow every 6 weeks (approx) but can be based throughout the UK and will be hybrid working.
They work at the cutting edge of technology, creating more than 100 new inventions every year for customers in over 100 countries.
As Senior Engineer, you will be working independently and remotely. You will have an opportunity to travel to Canada as part of the project. You will be working on a new class of ship and a new aircraft type.
Main Responsibilities:
•Produce Layout Drawings for Aviation compartments for review by stakeholders and to allow Stage 2 to correctly model these spaces
•Update Windchill PLM with mature parts, systems, occurrences and compartment data to ensure it correctly presents the baseline design
•Support HAZIDs and Safety Reviews
•Support Design Reviews and Zonal Reviews
•Support the development of the Aviation OPSTAT
•Mature Aviation design documentation in line with the programmes contractual obligations

About You:
•Aviation includes the design integration of (but not limited to):
oAircraft Handling System
oDesign or modification of Aviation services and compartments
oDevelopment of the Aviation safety case and development of contractual documents
oExperience with Ship aviation design is desirable
oExperience with CAD software like AutoCAD or FORAN is desirable
•Engineers should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution.
•Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation.
You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and, therefore, must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years
