The Role – Senior Engineer

We have an excellent opportunity for a talented Senior Engineer to join a prominent aerospace engineering business in Gloucestershire.

In this role you will be heavily involved in technical product development programmes, ensuring technical feasibility of proposed solutions and solving technical problems along the way.

This role will require high level competency in office and workshop-based activities and close collaboration with different departments, so teamwork and technical competency is paramount.

You’ll be joining a fantastic team in a purpose-built modern facility where you’ll be able to make a real impact to the future of the business.

Duties – Senior Engineer

Perform engineering tasks across a product development process (APQP).
Translate requirements into compliance statements and validation test procedures.
Coordinate development test work in validating product performance.
Active involvement in hands on testing including static, fatigue, vibration, thermal, fluid dynamics tests.
Report writing, presenting, and communicating technical work to engineers.
Utilising 8D and DMAIC methods for complex problems solving activities.
Accountability and monitoring of projects budgets against cost and timescales.
Provide technical leadership within programmes and assignments.
Leading trade study activities to gather required evidence, as needed.

Background - Senior Engineer

Mechanical engineering experience and training. (Ideally Degree level)
Problem-solving and investigation skills.
Familiarity with analytical methods and software.
Interpretation of engineering drawings and models.
Able to evaluate GD&T requirements.
Evidence of complex report writing.
Competence and willingness to perform hands on engineering work to support investigations.
