Do you want to help deliver cutting edge high fidelity thermal imaging and airborne sensor products? Due to the growth of the business area, we have an opportunity for anSenior Electronic Design Engineerto join our Sensors Team.

This vacancy presents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop and grow their skills and knowledge within a thriving organisation. In this broad electronic engineering role, you will work across a range of projects throughout various stages of the product lifecycle from initial concept development through to early life production support and on to support of existing fielded designs.

What you will do - Senior Electronic Design Engineer

  • Supporting our precision guidance (PG) programmes, you will support new designs undertaking the following activities.
  • Requirement definition and support to generation of verification plans
  • Electronic design analysis, circuit simulation and prototyping
  • Electronic schematic capture and PCB layout support
  • Power supply and interface circuit design for digital processors and microcontrollers
  • High-speed digital design – including FPGA, DDR and high speed LVDS video designs
  • Testing and debugging of electronic circuits
  • Development of subsystem engineering solutions and specifications
  • Cabling and connector specifications
  • Integration and Verification of System and Sub-Systems
  • Support to Qualification (including EMC)
  • Production and Delivery support

What you really must have: Senior Electronic Design Engineer

  • Knowledge and experience of all stages of the engineering development lifecycle
  • Digital & Analogue Electronic design knowledge
  • Board level PCB design (ideally using Siemens EDA Xpedition Enterprise)
  • Operating at the product system level
  • Specifying and defining COTS items
  • Working with subcontract suppliers
  • Specifying cable and connector solutions
  • System level integration
  • Ability to make technical decisions within own sphere of responsibility
