Power Electronics Engineer

  • Location: Hertfordshire (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)
  • Dynamic (hybrid) working: Where possible, we will seek to accommodate a blended approach to on-site and remote working. This role could be full time or part time in order to meet your needs. We are flexible and accommodating.
  • Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).

The opportunity:

  • Our client is focused on delivering innovative products to customers and nations worldwide, and the Power Electronics team plays a key role in this mission. As a member of this team, you will contribute significantly to the development of power electronics that control Actuation Systems, managing and controlling motors that adjust fins and enable precise movement of our products.
  • In this role, you will apply your expertise to support circuit design, prototyping, testing, and the integration of hardware necessary for motor control, feedback loops, and general control systems during flight operations.
  • Your responsibilities will span from early feasibility studies and technology assessments to certification, with a strong focus on ensuring smooth transitions to production. You'll be involved in every stage of the product lifecycle, working closely with diverse stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to ensure products meet quality, cost, and performance targets.

Role requirements:

  • Ideally, degree qualified with a demonstrable good solid background and experience in Electronic Design, development and delivery.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team, with an awareness of the challenges and opportunities that this may bring and a passion for team working and collaboration.
  • Experience of working in high integrity industries where stringent safety and security constraints are ingrained; therefore possessing an appreciation for responsibility to deliver excellence at every level.
  • Proven experience in power electronics along with the experience and commitment to designing excellent solutions.

  • Company bonus:Up to £2,500 (based on company performance and will vary year to year)
  • Pension:Maximum total (employer and employee) contribution of up to 14%
