THE ROLE

A fantastic opportunity for a well-rounded Senior Electrical Design Engineer to work on a variety of equipment for Sorion assembly and test solutions. You will have design influence and the scope of the job will be varied covering a variety of customers and requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will involve working through all phases of a project life cycle including:

• • Supporting customer review meetings and generating proposal / specification documents
  • Creating and reviewing designs for customer applications, ensuring they are not over- engineered and producing accurate BOM’s for handover to purchasing and manufacturing
  • Producing technical drawings and schematics as required
  • Good document control including engineering change control and drawing revision
  • Creating documentation and performing risk analysis reviews to support UKCA / CE marking as appropriate

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Degree or HND / HNC in a relevant discipline
• Transferable skills from time-served engineers will also be taken into consideration.

PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• 5 years of experience with good understanding of bespoke machine building
• An understanding and experience of vehicle electrical systems & schematics would be beneficial, but not essential, with knowledge of Electronics, PC/PLC Control Systems a bonus.
• Experience in E-Plan but other package history will be considered, and training can be provided.
• A Full Driving Licence and your own car is beneficial as there will be the occasional need to visit customer sites.
