Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking for a new challenge, either on a permanent or contract basis, in Glasgow?
Would you like to join a Team with new and exciting projects?

If yes, Belcan has the role for you as we are now looking to recruit Senior Electrical Design Engineers, who will be able to apply electrical engineering knowledge and design expertise to generate electrical design solutions. You will be capable of generating detailed designs from concept to completion and addressing a range of engineering issues.

The role has a strong focus on engineering delivery and quality, and you will be able to balance the technical responsibilities inherent within the role and working with the end client.

Qualifications and Experience:

Ideally be degree qualified with a minimum of 3 years' electrical design experience in a marine or offshore environment or time served with equivalent experience.
Proficient in the use 2D/3D CAD with electrical packages (Foran or NX preferred).
Highly capable communicator.
Experience of Cable Routing.
Understanding of cable segregation, noise requirements and electrical testing.A knowledge of overall electrical system design basics of circuit design / understanding of diagnostics to be able to understand down to component level.
Have a knowledge of Communication protocols.
Knowledge of AC/DC motor control systems and three phase supply.
Previous experience with combat active vessels/equipment would be advantageous.

For this role you must be eligible to obtain UK security clearance.
