Our client is a leader in their field are recruiting for a Senior Design Engineer to join their growing team!

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop sintered products in accordance with the NPI procedure, through concept, design & development and into the operational production phases

  • Support the specification and introduction of sintering capability

  • Power Module electrical; mechanical and thermal design; design for manufacture and high reliability application requirements

  • Creation of procurement and manufacturing drawings and specifications

  • Preparation of design and solution reports with costing estimates to support NPI projects

  • Work with the sales and business development team in the support of new business opportunities

  • Support existing product lines and processes throughout the entire life cycle

  • Ensure safe working practices are adopted and health and safety legislation are adhered to when implementing new products, materials processes, or equipment

  • On occasion, this role may require visits to customers or suppliers and may also involve foreign travel

    Ideal Candidate:

  • A Degree, or HND/HNC with equivalent experience, in an engineering discipline (desirable)

  • Demonstrable experience in the electronics industry, ideally in a manufacturing environment (desirable)

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and statistical process techniques (desirable)

  • Familiarity with Mil standard and design for high reliability environments (desirable)

  • Experience designing power modules

  • Familiarity with requirements for aerospace and high-rel applications

  • Competent in both mechanical & electronics CAD design and performing thermal, mechanical, and electrical simulations

  • Knowledge of SiC / GaN /Silicon technologies and common Semiconductor devices (MOSFET, IGBT, Diodes, Bipolar Transistors etc) and performance requirements

  • Knowledge or experience working with common semiconductor packaging materials

  • Experience in Design of Experiments, 8D and data analysis

  • Have a strong technical bias, with strong problem-solving abilities

  • A good level of competence with MS Office applications for documentation and presenting reports

    Working Hours and Benefits:

  • Monday – Thursday: 08:00am – 16:30pm, Friday: 08:00am – 13:00pm

  • 25 days annual leave
