The role of Senior Design Engineer is to design and detail efficient landing gear systems for civil and military aircraft to meet demanding customer requirements.
To support the design and manufacturing of the landing gear systems across the whole life-cycle.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks;
1.Support all aspects of concept to detail design throughout the life cycle of our landing gear programmes
2.Use of up-to-date technology including computer based programmes and systems (CAD, 3D Modelling, 2D Draughting, data management systems)
3.Designing to meet exacting customer requirements and industry standards
4.Technical presentations to customers
5.Interfacing with team members, chief engineers, programme management, manufacturing and colleagues at other Safran sites
6.Working closely with manufacturing to reduce non-conformances on products
7.Liaise with other sites to assist with the offload of packages of work
8.Work towards Design check signatory
9.Mentoring/ coaching of junior team members

Flexible working is available along with hybrid working - 2 days per week in the office will be required

Job Requirements

Essential
Degree in relevant Engineering discipline
Good knowledge of design and manufacturing processes, preferably related to the aerospace industry
Fully conversant with traditional and computerised design methods
Good verbal and written communication skills
General computer literacy (Microsoft office)
Experience of CAD (CATIA V5 preferred, but training will be provided)

Desirable
Previous aerospace experience
Technical lead experience
GD&T training
Good knowledge of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes
