Sales Manager – European Aerospace & Defense, Electronics Manufacturing

Job Summary: The Sales Manager (SM) for Defense & Aerospace will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, focusing on expanding Jabil's footprint within the defense and aerospace sectors. This role involves building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, government agencies, defense contractors, and commercial aerospace customers to drive revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the defense and aerospace market, as well as a strong network and experience in new business development.

What can you expect to do?

  • New Business Development: Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities within the defense and aerospace markets. Collaborate with internal teams to create and implement strategic growth plans that align with the company’s objectives.

  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and areas for growth. Leverage insights to inform business development strategies and decision-making.

  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including defense contractors, government agencies, and commercial aerospace customers. Build long-term partnerships by understanding their needs and delivering value-added solutions.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product development, and operations teams to ensure customer requirements are met. Provide input to ensure that products and services align with customer expectations and market demands.

  • Sales Targets: Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets by driving new revenue streams. Track progress against sales goals and provide regular updates to senior management.

  • Industry Engagement: Represent Jabil at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote the company’s capabilities and build industry presence.

What is the experience needed to be successful in this role?

  • UK or EU Member Citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years in a business development, program management, government acquisition, and/or technical program leadership role for aerospace and/or defense products is required.
  • Strong personal networking skills with exposure to executive and leadership levels in Aerospace and Defense companies and/or the Department of Defense.
  • Proven track record of identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel 50%+ as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • We are building a sales & business development team with complimentary capabilities and cross-coverage, therefore a team-player personality is required.
  • The position requires a self-starter that operates with a minimum level of oversight to personally execute and achieve the Sales Team's goals in the Aerospace & Defense sector in Europe.
  • The ideal candidate will have a deal-closer mentality that executes the full sales cycle to capturing new business.
