Working within the Company Safety and Environmental Management System you will:

  1. Use your Safety Analysis skills across the full system lifecycle: from requirements identification through design, development, manufacture system integration, acceptance testing, delivery and when required disposal.
  2. Be involved on all aspects of safety assessment, from Hazard Identification through to delivery of project Safety Case Reports. You will undertake assessment and analysis using various techniques including Functional Failure Analysis system requirements and Fault Tree Analysis, to identifying and validate system requirements, influence design trade-offs and architecture to reduce safety risks.
  3. Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments ensuring that the products are compliant with applicable legislation.
  4. Develop Safety Requirements and identify appropriate verification and validation methods.
  5. Construct arguments, based upon evidence gathered to support safety claims.
  6. Present the outcomes of safety analysis to Integrated Project Teams and Customers.
  7. Take part in incident or observation analysis as required.
  8. Work closely with many different engineering disciplines, customers, partners and suppliers to solve complex problems and deliver safe products.
  9. Contribute to continual improvement of the Company Safety Management System.

What we’re looking for
You really must have:

  1. Experience analysing complex systems from a safety perspective, considering the system functions.
  2. Knowledge and experience of Safety Case Report development for complex systems within an Electronics or Avionics discipline.
  3. You will be self-motivated, with a desire to learn new technologies and continuously refine your craft.
  4. Ability to work across a number of sub-system teams to develop the system solution, coping with a high degree of design complexity and significant levels of uncertainty.
  5. Excellent problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  6. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  7. Experience of working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders of varying seniorities.
  8. Due to the nature of the tasks involved, you must be able to achieve full SC clearance and to satisfy further UK eyes only and ITAR conditions.

It would be nice if you had:

  1. Experience of the following tools: CAMEO Systems Modeller, Azure, DOORS, Adelard ASCE and Isograph FaultTree+, Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel).
