Job summary
We are delighted to offer exciting opportunities for motivated & enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join our Ophthalmology unit. The ophthalmology unit provides Outpatient, Theatre and Inpatient services but you will primarily be providing care in the Outpatient Department at Nevill Hall Hospital and its satellite clinics on other ABUHB sites. The ability to travel between sites in a timely manner is essential.
In order to develop the necessary specialist skills required of this post the successful applicant will complete the competency based framework and have access to the ophthalmology educational ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be reliable, hardworking and work well within a team. The applicant must be a registered nurse. The ideal candidate must be expected to demonstrate commitment to their own personal development and show keen interest in the future development of the profession and ophthalmology services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Job Summary/Job Purpose:
The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced-based nursing care, working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
To contribute to the smooth running of the department in terms of taking charge of the department in the absence of the department manager and deputy, assisting in all clinical areas as required.
To participate in the education, development and supervision of other staff members.
To act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
