My client, a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation, is seeking a Quality Systems Engineer to join their growing team in Gloucester. Operating across high-impact industries such as aerospace, defence, and high-performance automotive, they are committed to excellence in manufacturing and continuous improvement. As a Quality Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation maintains the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with Production Planning, Process Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams, and support the implementation and development of robust quality systems and procedures across the business. This role focuses on driving compliance, improving quality processes, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities -Quality Systems Engineer

Utilise standard Quality System tools and processes to ensure that all Quality activities are completed accurately and consistently across the organisation.

Support the implementation of effective APQP processes across the business.

Develop, implement and maintain process documentation to support effective product and process quality.

Manage and implement systems for the control of non-conformances, root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventive measures

Monitor and analyse manufacturing performance data, identifying and proposing solutions for quality improvement, particularly in relation to scrap reduction and right first time improvement.

Support the response to Supplier and Customer Quality issues

Support the completion of Lean improvement events and activities from a Quality Systems perspective.

Promote the utilisation of the Business Management system across the business.

Support the development and the implementation of written procedures and organisational policies for the business.

Routinely report on Quality KPI's.

Support the development and implementation of the annual improvement plan for the Quality function.

Conduct internal and external audit

Develop and manage the annual external and internal audit schedule.

Support the continuous improvement of the Quality function.

Ensure compliance safety, environmental and regulatory compliance requirements for Quality activities.

Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Quality management technologies, methodologies and best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements - Quality Systems Engineer  

Minimum 3 years Quality Management System experience in a complex ISO9001/AS9100 certified manufacturing environment.

Skilled in documentation management and configuration control

Proficient auditor of management systems and processes

Experienced in the use of standard Quality management methodologies including APQP, PPAP & FAIR

Experience in use of ERP systems to drive process quality

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex process issues

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Trained AS9100 Auditor

Methodical and organised  

Excellent attention to detail  

Completer/Finisher mindset  

Good problem-solving skills
