Job Description
The Purchasing Project Manager will lead and manage projects within SEP UK and France, focusing on the purchasing and cost-reduction strategies for specific commodities. This position is crucial for overseeing transfers of work (TOW) activities and optimizing purchasing processes, while ensuring the highest standards of quality and cost efficiency.
The individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and meet performance targets. This position will also support the Purchasing NPI function providing project management support and guidance to the team.
•Work Transfers Management: Lead the planning and execution of transfers of work (TOW) activities, including the transition of manufacturing processes, sourcing strategies, and supplier partnerships across various locations or facilities in compliance with GRP-0225.
•Cost Reduction Strategies: Identify, develop, and implement strategies for cost reduction, ensuring that purchasing activities align with the company's cost-saving goals. Work with suppliers to negotiate pricing and terms to achieve cost-efficiencies.
•Project Management: Plan, monitor, and execute purchasing projects related to the aerospace generator manufacturing process. Manage timelines, budgets, risks, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
•Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with aerospace industry regulations, internal standards, and contract requirements. Monitor supplier performance for quality assurance and resolve any issues related to non-conformance.
•Risk Management: Identify procurement risks related to supply chain disruptions, quality issues, or cost overruns. Develop mitigation strategies and monitor and update the risk management tools with the latest risks and mitigation actions. Proactively communicate any risks or issues to senior management.
•NPI Support: Support the NPI team with any special projects requirements (TOW, cost reduction, etc.). Support the development activities of New Programs as required.
Job Requirements
•Experience in Aerospace is required, especially in P145 and P21G organisations.
•Bachelor Degree in Aeronautical Engineering required or equivalent.
•PMP qualification or equivalent required.
•Lean Six Sigma knowledge required (green belt minimum)
•Demonstrable change management experience
•Well developed interpersonal skills, able to communicate and influence effectively at all levels
•Good financial understanding and practical experience of managing cost reduction and projects to budget
•Experience in auditing is desirable.
