to be based at our customers site in Gaydon.
Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.

The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to develop and deliver our Propulsion systems (XHEV / BEV)of the future for our world-class portfolio of products. The ideal candidate will have virtual development and physical validation and integration experience of Powertrain/PropulsionSystems.
You will be a key member of the team involved in System Definition and providing hands-on technical support integrating Hardware and Software into the Propulsion system.
The Propulsion Systems Integration Engineer is responsible for supporting the definition, development and delivery of Propulsion Systems (XHEV/BEV) systems, consisting of multiple hardware and software components, into vehicles for our exciting, all new, Electrified Architecture platform. The role will involve:
System Functional Analysis - carrying out a range of analysis and investigations of the customer requirements to define the expected system functionality and their performance targets.
System Integration

Defining system logical and physical architecture, operating logic and a system integration plan.
Verification and Validation

Supporting the design and develop system integration tests and DVP
Evaluating multiple system design concepts and maintain integrity between system and its components to arrive at a harmonized solution
Defining system requirements and cascade to sub-system / component teams with a balanced attribute trade agreed with attributes and vehicle engineering that supports the cost and quality targets of the project
Leading cross-functional technical reviews on the systems; balancing commodity responses to deliver the best outcome for the customer
Supporting improvement activities in process and quality
Adhering to the defined systems engineering & programme delivery processes
Supporting Propulsion systems engineering lessons learned process development

Area of Responsibility:
Generation of targets and verification methods that are driven by Customer, Function Requirements and Functional Failure Analysis
Contribute to the delivery of the powertrain into vehicle programmes, in line with the Systems Engineering discipline outlined by Product Creation System.
Provide technical support and assistance across the operational team on topics relating to the integration and harmonisation of multiple interconnected components including issue resolution and objective data analysis
Work with Technical Specialists and Subject Matter Experts on Attribute and Function Forward Strategies, including new Function Definition and Requirements
Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Skills & Experience:

Essential:
Relevant experience of working in an Automotive Electrified Powertrain Systems Engineering environment
Relevant experience of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance
Good verbal and written communications
Analytical and problem

solving skills
Track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
Full driving license

Desirable:
Experience in applying Systems Engineering and solving complex technical issues using a structured approach
Experience in working in an agile or scrum methodology including use of JIRA for task management
Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
User of diagnostic/Data analysis tools; INCA/Canalyzer/Corvus/Matlab/picoscope/MDA
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience of JIRA
