Join our Production department as a Production Engineer at our Stonehouse site, Gloucestershire.

We are looking for a Production Engineer for the Production department at Sartorius. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing production processes, control the transfer of new products into production manufacturing, as well as attending to production challenges on the shopfloor.

The team consists of 6 professionals, and we are looking forward to shaping the future with you.

This position is available for full-time on a permanent basis and based on site in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. Working hours are Monday to Thursday 7.10 – 16.10 or 7.55 – 16.55, Friday 7.10 – 12.10, 7.55 – 12.55 rotating on a weekly basis.

Grow with us – Your Responsibilities

  1. On a daily basis you will provide technical support for existing manufacturing processes.
  2. Leading New Production Introductions and transfers onto site.
  3. Involved in all stages of the product lifecycle including plastic part design, equipment selection, design and qualification of equipment, training and production support.
  4. Carrying out process improvements in regards to capacity increase, scrap/cost reduction.
  5. Project management and Change Control (new technology, new equipment, process improvements).
  6. Design of manufacturing jigs and fixtures on CAD, passing drawings on to the Tool Room.
  7. Subject Matter Expert for quality investigations and regulatory audits.
  8. Assist with shopfloor Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  9. Monitor and control process performance, generate KPIs and monthly summary reports.
  10. Assist with maintaining systems to ensure compliance to ISO9001, ISO13485 and regulatory IVD requirements.

What will convince us

  1. Engineering Apprenticeship complete with supporting qualification, HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, Technical or Science related discipline would be beneficial.
  2. Manufacturing/Production experience in a regulated environment (medical device, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, automotive, food etc.).
  3. Knowledge of industry regulations and quality standards (i.e.: ISO).
  4. Knowledge of process improvement methods (e.g.: Lean, Six Sigma).
  5. Experience of project management and the ability to work in a global project team.
  6. Experience of CAD and automation software would be beneficial.
  7. Knowledge of metrology, any measuring equipment would be beneficial.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
