Senior Test Development Engineer - Glenrothes

Product Development Engineer / Design Engineer / CAD Engineer required to join a leading manufacturer based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

The Product Development Engineer / Design Engineer / CAD Engineer will join the R&D department and provide life-cycle design support on existing, legacy & new products using 3D CAD, GD&T and PLM software. 

The successful Product Development Engineer / Design Engineer will have experience using 3D CAD and have an awareness of GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing). You’ll have a HNC, HND or Degree in mechanical engineering or similar.

There is hybrid working available with the option of working from home 2 days per week after a 3 month qualifying period.

£34,000 - £40,000 depending on experience

Role
Evaluate and implement engineering design change requests 
Using 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and Keytech PLM software
Preparing, maintaining and revision control of 3D CAD models, drawings and BOMs using SolidWorks and PLM software
Re-drawing legacy AutoCAD designs in SolidWorks
Updating and correcting modelling errors in legacy SolidWorks Drawings
Oversee validation testing
New product development
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Provide technical assistance during the manufacturing process
Liaise with various engineering departments
Flexi hours - Monday – Thursday with a half day on Friday. 37.5 hours per week
There is hybrid working available with the option of working from home 2 days per week after a 3 month qualifying period. Office is in Wellingborough

Requirements
Exposure as a Product Development Engineer, Design Engineer, Design & Development Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Design Draughtsman, CAD Engineer or similar
HNC, HND or Degree qualified in mechanical engineering, production engineering, aerospace engineering, automotive engineering, manufacturing engineering or similar
3D CAD experience – Preferably Solidworks but others will be considered
Awareness of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
PLM software / PLM Systems experience would be beneficial
There is hybrid working available with the option of working from home 2 days per week after a 3 month qualifying period. Office is in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
