We are working in collaboration with our Precision engineering customer, and are keen to speak with experienced Process Technicians - Chemical Processing, Surface treatments

This is a full time, permanent job vacancy, and you will need to be able to work the following rotating shift pattern

Earlies

Lates

Days

Early finish on Fridays!!!!!!

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager you will be responsible for the following:

Assess and resolve issues with surface treatment processes
Evaluate and improve surface deposition processes, including design and testing of tooling, anodes, bath setups, and preparation
Amending written instructions where required and being point-of-contact technical support for plating operators
Create and review controlling process documentation in accordance with relevant specifications
Control stock levels and carry out actions required following solution testing (chemical additions and dilutions)
Co-ordinate with subcontract representatives to create and improve in house and external processes
Ensure smooth running of department, including maintaining water treatment and effluent plants
Correct storage and disposal of plating chemicals and hazardous waste
Liaising with engineering, laboratory and supply team

To be considered for this role:

Experience in a surface treatments environment
Understanding of principles of electrodeposition and chemical conversion
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Familiarity with working with chemicals in a safe and responsible manner
Computer literate, particularly with Microsoft Office
Quality driven team worker able to work under pressure

It will be highly advantageous if you possess the following:Professional, further, or higher education qualification in physical or chemical sciences

Experience with cadmium or copper plating
Experience with anodising, phosphating, and stainless steel passivation
Familiarity with specification controlled production environment, particularly aerospace
Experience and understanding of effluent and water purification technologies
Experience with NADCAP audits

Up to £36,800 inclusive of shift allowance

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
