Join our team as a Process Safety Engineer and contribute to our commitment to safety and optimisation in our dynamic manufacturing environment.

About the Role

As a Process Safety Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our processes. Working closely with a multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will focus on safety risk management and optimisation of operational assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on process safety and risk management throughout project lifecycles, from design to implementation.
  • Develop and maintain safety documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, and control philosophies.
  • Conduct thorough safety assessments such as HAZOP, LOPA, and DSEAR analyses.
  • Lead investigations into process safety incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to achieve compliance with safety regulations and improve safety performance.
  • Support the integration of process safety practices into new and existing projects.

Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking candidates with a strong commitment to safety and a proven track record in process safety engineering.

  • A degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation is desirable.
  • Extensive experience in process safety within the chemical or similar industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • Proficiency in safety assessment methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies for continuous improvement.
  • Experience in working within a COMAH / IPPC regulated environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
