Overview

Expleo are going through a period of growth and are in need of a number of Systems Engineers across all levels for exciting Aerospace,Defence and Marine projects. These Systems Engineering vacancies present an exciting opportunities for a ambitious individuals to develop and grow their skills and knowledge within a thriving organisation.

You will be engaged in a wide variety of Systems Engineering activities covering the entire engineering lifecycle, including; systems definition, input to estimates and bid activities, requirements apportionment, systems architecting, integration, verification & validation, which will involve proactive interaction and communication with other Engineering and non-Engineering functions. Candidates with a good understanding of all aspects of Systems Engineering relating to lifecycle processes and methodologies should apply.

Responsibilities

As a Principal / Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems solutions that meet our clients' needs. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of systems, while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Duties include but not limited to -

Systems Engineering
Support the management of Requirements throughout the Engineering Lifecycle
Proving Technical inputs to bidding activities
Integration and production qualification activities
Working as a part of team, taking concepts and prototypes, and developing them into Products
Planning Work Packages and support the tracking and execution of them
Requirements and Use Case analysis
Concept assessment and design trade studies
System architecture design and functional modelling
Performance assessment and systems behavior analysis
Verification, Validation and Certification
Developing Sonar Products (either an underwater telephone or depth sounder) in the customers Underwater Battlespace Division.
Full systems development lifecycle involvement, from requirements management through to V&V and delivery.

Qualifications

An HND / FD or Bachelor's Degree in an engineering subject

Essential skills

Knowledge and experience of working within the Verification and Validation
An understanding of requirements capture and experience of using DOORS to manage requirements
Familiar with systems engineering best practice
Excellent Communication Skills
Full knowledge of 'V' lifecycle
Stakeholder Management
Looking for someone with experience, initiative, and proactive attitude with good balance of soft and technical skills who can liaise with stakeholders and push projects forward
Familiar with DOORS & MS Office

Desired skills

Project and Programmes Experience desirable
Defence Sector Highly desirable
Sonar domain knowledge and electronics background are highly desirable but not essential
Marine Sector highly desirable
Fleet Operations desirable
Modifications and configuration management

Experience

The post holder must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required in the technical management of complex design development throughout the design lifecycle
Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post and project requirements
Sound project specification & planning experience
Sound understanding of Company and departmental procedures relating to Design, Health & Safety and Quality requirements, and ability to manage projects in accordance with these procedures.
Working knowledge of relevant engineering office computer applications
Experience of the design support to construction, operation, refit/repair of conventional and nuclear submarines and/or facilities
Experience with electrical design and product development

What do I need before I apply

Due to the Defence nature of our projects you will need to be a UK national and capable of securing Security Clearance
An average of 1-2 days on-site in Barnstaple is expected for this role.
