You will collaborate with various regional account teams to work on strategic engagements requiring a higher degree of strategic planning, consulting, hands-on technical expertise, and internal New Relic cross-departmental collaboration!You will specialize in leading OpenTelemetry observability POCs by providing thought leadership for solution design, implementation of best practices, and technical troubleshooting. What you'll do
In partnership with sales and product teams, lead technical evaluations via OpenTelemetry POC/POV ownership, and workshop design Accelerate transformation initiatives and observability maturity for New Relic customers and prospects Engage with customers, both onsite and remote, in a technical consultancy and advisor role during the pre-sales process while providing technical assistance and solution guidance Understand and document the current and desired state of the customer’s observability state and design solutions to address the identified gaps Map desired customer outcomes to required observability capabilities Build the brand, trust, and credibility in the OpenTelemetry space by developing artifacts such as reference architectures, technical blogs, conference presentations, a repository of OpenTelemetry field resources Enable New Relic field teams on how to engage and implement OpenTelemetry for New Relic customers Continuously improve your professional skills with a focus on personal mastery and team learning through activities such as training, reading, and seeking mentorship from others
This role requires BS in CS (or equivalent) 4+ years of professional experience developing with at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or Golang Hands-on experience and working understanding of OpenTelemetry standards and other OSS such as Prometheus, Grafana Observability experience with either New Relic, Splunk, AppDynamics, DataDog, Dynatrace, Grafana Labs, or other observability platforms Technical, Executive presentation, and communication skills Ability to analyze & interpret business requirements and customer interactions to anticipate and guide client needs Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of customer organization from executive to developer/practitioner levels Bonus points if you have MS in CS (or equivalent). Background in mobile device platforms & architectures (IOS & Android) Experience contributing to or working as a maintainer of an open-source project Familiarity with industry standards such as TOGAF & ITIL
