Are you a seasoned Mechanical Engineer with a passion for complex design, innovation, and technical leadership? We are looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to drive excellence in engineering design and delivery across exciting, high-integrity projects.

The Role:

So, what will you be doing as a Principal Mechanical Engineer?

Independently prepare technical documentation and develop product data within the mechanical domain.
Lead the technical design intent, delivering compliant design solutions on schedule and within budget.
Interpret and scrutinise project requirements without supervision; capture and derive additional technical requirements.
Interface with operations and supply chain teams to ensure design intent is maintained and DFM/DFT principles are applied effectively.
Lead the preparation and review of engineering estimates and bids, identifying risks and cross-functional dependencies.
Ensure compliance with security, export licensing, and ITAR regulations, supporting and coaching junior staff as required.
Lead failure investigations and propose solutions, reporting findings to management and customers.
Guide other engineers in resolving technical challenges and oversee large or complex technical work packages.
Expertly author and review complex CAD models and drawings using at least two recognised CAD tools, including the application of geometric and linear tolerancing.
Demonstrate expertise in mechanical integration of electrical wiring assemblies and PCB subassemblies, influencing layout for mechanical reliability.
Conduct FEA analysis and provide reports; basic understanding of CFD with the ability to support and mentor others.
Apply expert knowledge in designing for manufacture, understanding engineering and project lifecycles thoroughly.What are we looking for in our next Principal Mechanical Engineer?

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
Extensive post-qualification experience in complex engineering environments.
Preferably Chartered Engineer status or working toward professional accreditation.
Experience with PCB and enclosure design, especially for EMI/EMC performance.
Familiarity with aerospace-grade materials and manufacturing methods.
