Summary / Role Purpose 

Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to be a globally recognized industry leader in the A&D vertical to map customers’ product development processes, solve customers’ real-world problems, deploy Ansys software in their product development and operations workflows, and grow Ansys’ business. As the industry ACE leader, you will be an integral team member of the A&D COE collaborating and partnering with Industry CTO, Sales leadership, global TAM director, GTM strategy, marketing, and ACE to support Ansys’ verticalization strategy. You will also be a conduit for capturing regional priorities and developing a prioritization strategy to influence the technology roadmap to address key technology trends. You will be working in a dynamic, cross functional environment, with multi-disciplinary teams to leverage your leadership skills to deliver business impact. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

Support Ansys’ verticalization Go-to-Market strategy in collaboration with Marketing and Sales Operations, and aligned with the Global Technical Account Management Leads (TAM) and Industry CTO teams 

Work with TAMs, CTO office, GTM office and ACE Subject Matter Experts to map Ansys capabilities to industry initiatives and whitespace 

Identify, scope, capture requirements, and own the creation and coordination of best-known practices for vertical application focus areas 

Build a network of SMEs globally to drive the collation of content to fit the Ansys narrative 

Collate ACE and TAM feedback, conduct gap analyses, and articulate technology roadmaps, prioritize and communicate feature enhancements to product BUs, and recommend new solution focus areas and asset development to Global Programs and Solutions extended team leaders 

Drive market adoption of the vertical application focus areas by creating and promoting sales enablement and technical content 

Sales opportunity lifecycle such as technical discovery, product presentations, demonstrations, evaluations, and deployments to drive software sales in new accounts and expand in existing accounts 

Partner with Regional Sales Directors to review opportunities, forecast, build pipeline, prioritize engineering resources, develop ideas, and support execution of new business growth initiatives 

Collaborate with the Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into new product features and functionalities, guide Ansys product roadmap that communicate new solution focus areas to Global Solutions and Programs team leaders; lead project teams testing new releases of Ansys products on industrial problems 

Practice and promote One Ansys culture 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience 

Required education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in Mechanical/Chemical/Aerospace/Electrical Engineering or related field 

Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+12, MS+10, or PhD+7 

Required minimum years of direct experience with companies or governments in the A&D community: BS+10, MS+8 or PhD +5 

Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages 

Subject matter expert in one or more relevant disciplines within Ansys’ business and is/will be sought out for advice by other Ansys engineers 

Demonstrated understanding of engineering practices and product development, experience with building solutions using simulation technology and deploying those solutions within customers’ engineering workflows 

Track record of delivering exceptional customer outcomes and worldwide revenue impact 

Experience with planning and executing corporate-level initiatives 

Strong leadership and mentoring skills 

Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English 

Ability to organize and manage multiple projects which are complex in nature, coordinate colleagues across geographically diverse locations 

Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed 

Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15% of time 

Provide 4-6 skills that are absolutely required to perform the duties of the advertised position 

Ability to work in Matrix Organization 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills 

Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+16, MS+14, or PhD+11 

Preferred years of direct experience with companies or governments in the A&D community: BS+12, MS+10 or PhD +8 

6 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer facing roles using engineering software

Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives 

Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives 

Excellent negotiation skills to facilitate discussions and reach conclusions among peers, team members, and partners with differing opinions 

Ability to manage multiple projects which are complex in nature and coordinate colleagues across diverse teams and regions 

Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration and coordination with personnel distributed across multiple global sites 

Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of time
