There is an excellent opportunity for aManufacturing Engineer to work within our business and within theUltraFan Integrated Project Team. This work will involve thedevelopment of the hardware for a Mk2 Engine Architecture as wellas a range of other components. The role will be based in CTFBristol on the Filton site and visits to our offsite facility. Itwill involve working closely with other parts of the businessincluding Rolls-Royce Derby, external suppliers and the NationalComposites Centre (NCC). What you will be doing - Delivery of geometricinspection processes for a range of composite components from fanblades to structures and providing a capable method to theoperation team in the facility. - Ensure the inspection techniquesmeet our customer's requirements for Safety, Quality, Cost,Delivery and Lead time. - Develop the technical Package (EquipmentSpecification, TI's, PFMEAs, Tooling, Equipment and HSEdocumentation) to define the manufacturing process and control iteffectively. - Identify opportunities for improving inspectionprocesses through the use of automation and digital tools to reduceinspection time whilst capturing the required product data. Sharingthese opportunities and best practice across the community. - Drivethe inspection process to deliver Zero Defects through cost andquality waterfalls, owning the technology plan and strategy as wehead toward industrialising the UltraFan system. They are the fundamental qualities that we seekfor all roles. - Engineering or relevant discipline degree, HND orHNC with Manufacturing Engineering experience. - Knowledge ofGD&T and component design, ability to interpret CAD definitionto define inspection requirements and the design of inspectiontooling for composite processes. - Understanding of technologyreadiness levels (TRL) (or similar processes such as MCRL) anddriving processes to maturity. - Understanding of the manufacturingengineering toolset to improve processes in our route to zerodefects. - Experience working to aerospace management systems andfollowing process controls.
