Are you anenthusiastic Cardiology Nurse looking for progression and a new challenge in aband 6 role? If so, an exciting opportunity has opened up on the Coronary CareUnit (CCU) at Rotherham NHS foundation Trust.
The CCU team isdynamic and friendly and are keen to help and support and develop nursesinterested in experiencing this exciting role. We are seeking nurses who arecompassionate, bright and motivated to deliver the best care to our acute andcomplex group of patients. The successful applicants will be expected to haveup to date and relevant Cardiology experience of at least 2 years postregistration. An understanding of NICE guidance, protocol based practice andevidence of leadership qualities is essential.
We are an 8 beddedunit caring for a wide variety of acutely ill patients from Acute CoronarySyndromes, Heart Failure, Cardiac Arrhythmias and Patients requiring CPAP. Weare also involved in dobutamine stress echos, trans-oesophagealechocardiograms and DC cardioversion. We also have the facility to monitor 10telemetry beds on adjoining wards. A friendly cardiology team consisting ofconsultants, sonographers, heart failure and cardiac rehabilitation specialistnurses and an arrhythmia nurse closely supports us.
We encourage staffdevelopment and training. Support for the successful applicant will beprovided. Both full and part-time hours will be considered. We have recentlystarted utilising team rostering to help with staff wellbeing.
Main duties of the job
Maintain highstandards of clinical work when carrying out nursing procedures, and act as arole model for junior colleagues. Ensure high standardsof care are delivered to all patients, whilst maintaining the Units alreadyestablished high standards. Lead the ward team inthe absence of other senior members of staff. Ensure compliancewith our clinical governance framework,. Champion service usersafety and dignity. Be involved, andproactive in the development of new quality improvements. Assist with cardioversions,and pre-assessments, dobutamine stress echo's trans-oesophagealechocardiograms, and also be trained in nurse lead perfusion scans. Liaise with othermembers of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure patients are receiving theappropriate and timely care.
